Feature Film Secrets of Fenville to Premiere
November 20, 2003
Secrets of Fenville, a feature-length collection
of short films created by nine filmmakers from the Metropolitan Detroit
area, will celebrate its Premiere showing on Thursday, November 20, 2003
at Landmark's Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak, Michigan. There will be two
showings, at 7pm and 9:30pm. Tickets will soon be available.
Drug Bust Ends In Bloodbath, Without A Shot Fired
Late Wednesday night, Fenville Police raided a warehouse
on the city's north side after being tipped that a major drug deal was
taking place. When they arrived, they were shocked to discover the bodies
of twelve men. Each of the men had been shot numerous times. Weapons and
ammunition littered the floor of the building. "We're baffled," said Fenville
Police Chief Martin Wright. "I haven't seen anything like this in years."
The warehouse, believed to be owned by a former member
of the Finucci crime family, has been the site of much investigation by
both local and federal officials for decades. "We often suspected that
this building was used for illegal purposes, but we could never make anything
stick," said a representative of an unnamed federal agency. Federal, State,
and Local police will be working cooperating to piece together the events
of the incident.
In next week's Fenville Times, columnist Jorge
Holmstead will discuss the escalating drug problem in the city, and its
consequences for the city's youth.
NEWS UPDATE:
Missing Girl Found
Ellie Ann Seaver, the 18-year-old girl reported missing
last Saturday, was found Monday morning just after last week's Fenville
Times went to press. Seaver, a Freshman at Fenville State University,
was discovered asleep in the parking lot of the Royal Inn bar on the city's
east side. Much like the previous two young girl disappearances, Seaver
had no recollection of the events that happened during the past two days.
Ellie's parents, Ted and Alice Seaver of Fenville Heights, were overjoyed
when Ellie finally returned home. "We're elated," said the girl's father.
"We're so glad she's unharmed." Ellie will remain home for an additional
week before she returns to college
