BREAKING NEWS:
Fenville Times
Reporter Found Slain
Columnist Jorge Holmstead was found dead on the grounds
of the Schlock's Brewery (website)
in Grand Oaks Township. He was found by a security guard around 1am Saturday
morning. Police say it was an execution-style shooting, seeing as Holmstead
was bound and gagged, and had been shot in the back and head at least eight
times. Holmstead had been researching for his continuing column on drug
and alcohol use among the city's youth, and had met with Schlock's owner
Barry Norse on Friday.
Harvest Festival Ruined by Strike
The joy of the past weekend's Fenville County Harvest
Festival was destroyed by striking performers. Around 50 members of the
United Federation of Street Performance Artists (UFSPA) formed a picket
line at Memorial Park's two crowded entrances, and proceeded to heckle
passers-by. Mimes, in full garb and carrying invisible signs, performed
lewd acts in front of minors, and three striking clowns went so far as
to purposely frighten small children. Ten arrests were made by Fenville
police. A Spokesmime for the UFSPA had no comment.
