Secrets of Fenville Premiere a Huge Success
The premiere of Secrets of Fenville last Thursday
evening fared far better than many expected. The 7:00pm screening was completely
sold out, and the 9:30pm screening was more than 3/4 full. As well, the
representatives from Exclusivemagazine.com
received many donations of food, toys, and books for Gleaners
Community Food Bank and local Children's Hospitals.
"We're really so grateful to everyone who came out in
support of local Independent film," said one of the film's directors, "and
to see so many people bringing in food and toy donations really shows how
big of a heart this community has."
Of course, the story doesn't end here. The filmmakers
are planning on holding screenings of the film in Park City, Utah during
this January's Sundance Film Festival. As well, there will be future screenings
of Secrets of Fenville throughout the state of Michigan as well
as other states across the country. And, of course, the Fenville Times
will always be here, reporting on the continued evolution of all things
happening within our fair city.
DEVELOPING STORY:
Servers Crashed
by Unknown Culprit; Hacker Presumed
As many citizens are now aware, last week's issue of the
Fenville
Times was not published in either print or web form due to a massive
server outage within the city. The servers of this newspaper, as well as
the city's private Local-Area-Network and both the Fenville Police and
Fenville County Sheriff's Department, were knocked offline at approximately
12:01am on Monday, November 17th. (Our web-based version of the previous
issues was still available due to our remote web server being based in
Utah.) The outage lasted for nearly three full days in what may be the
most widespread denial-of-service attack in the city's history. More...

Police Issue
Warrant for Holmstead Brother
Shortly after the massive computer outage on Monday, the
Fenville County Sheriff issued a warrant for the arrest of Jesus Holmstead,
brother of slain Fenville Times reporter Jorge Holmstead.
"We suspect that Mr. Holmstead may have vital information about the murder
of his brother, and that Mr. Holmstead may have been involved in the crime,"
said a spokesman for the department. Jesus Holmstead, who works as a Brewmaster
at Schlock's Brewery, where his brother was found five weeks ago, disappeared
two days before the warrant was issued. Police suspect he may still be
in the area. More...
LATE NEWS:
Minivan Drives Off Bridge, Child Survives
Last Wednesday evening, a minivan careened off a bridge
in Grand Rapids, drowning four family members. The as-yet unidentified
family was allegedly headed toward Florida for a vacation when their vehicle
hit ice on a bridge on I-793. Amazingly, the youngest member of the family,
a 6-month-old girl, was found alive and unharmed on the banks of the river.
The girl was still strapped into her car seat when police found her Thursday
morning. We will update this story as it develops.
