BREAKING NEWS:
Fenville Times Reporter Found Slain
Columnist Jorge Holmstead was found dead on the grounds of the Schlock's Brewery (website) in Grand Oaks Township. He was found by a security guard around 1am Saturday morning. Police say it was an execution-style shooting, seeing as Holmstead was bound and gagged, and had been shot in the back and head at least eight times. Holmstead had been researching for his continuing column on drug and alcohol use among the city's youth, and had met with Schlock's owner Barry Norse on Friday.

Norse himself could not be reached for comment. A spokesperson for Schlock's Breweries, Inc stated that Norse was "shaken" by the murder, and that the company will be "cooperating fully" with police on this matter.

This isn't the first time that Norse has been under scrutiny. In August of 2002, he was questioned by state and federal officials searching for his son, Ricky, who disappeared while chaperoning a retreat in northern Michigan. Ricky Norse, 24, was attending the police academy at Fenville State University, and worked as a security guard at his father's brewery shortly after it opened last year. Barry Norse was not considered a suspect in that case.
